Riksgränsen / Sweden
|
?? I think there is a bit of confusion here. Is it Are or Riksgränsen ??
Opened in 1952, the so-called “cabin lift” was built by a Swedish company. The cabins featured semi-enclosed, two-person standing platforms made of aluminium. A small door allowed passengers to step in and out while the lift was moving, which is why the system ran at a relatively low speed. The floor was a metal grating, good at preventing snow build-up, though it still let cold air rise from below. Even so, the brightly painted aluminium cladding offered some protection from the wind, and a small roof helped shield riders from dripping water and oil splashes.
