A very ligth detachable chairlift climbed up Krokkleiva. It opened in March 1948, after preparation and hard work of Kleivstuas owner Leif Falch. The chairlift carried 150 people per hour from Sundvollen to Kleivstua. During five Easter days it transported 5,000 people as local newspaper reported one and a half week after opening. The license expired of the then worn out chairlift expired in 1957, an modified into a more simplicistic fixed grip keg lift (barrel lift / cestovia) in 1958. Remains of this lift can bee seen in Kleivstua. (source)
