(Innsbruck, Sept. 10, 2019) This year's glacier "budget" has ended, time for a first review with two simple GIF animations: It evidences the two year mass loss of Ebenferner Glacier (Vedretta Piana) (August 28, 2017 --> September 4, 2019). The Livrio cable car station in the upper center is located at el. 3174m.

This year's loss could be estimated to about only 1m in height (below Livrio, at el. 3100m) due to abundant snowfalls in spring, while last year's loss was more than twice as much.

Animation 1:

In the top left the glacier covered summit plateau of Ortler (3900m) is visible, in the lower left a small portion(el. 2600m approx.) of Madatsch Glacier becomes visible, suggesting more significant mass loss.
